Hi I’m Sam. I empower people to own their voices and communicate with confidence.
With over 15 years of experience, I’ve helped clients from diverse cultures and backgrounds embrace their voices and develop the skills to express themselves.
My mantra is simple: Own your voice to own your life.
I know, firsthand, what it feels like to miss an opportunity because I was too afraid to speak up. I know what it feels like to be silenced and for another voice to speak over me like I wasn’t even there. I know what it feels like to have my boundaries crossed or be taken advantage of because I couldn’t speak the word ‘no’. I know what it feels like to burn out because I couldn’t effectively delegate or ask for help.
I also know, firsthand, the opposite. I know the positive impact for myself and the world around me when I courageously speak my truth. I know the way new doors open when I have the confidence to say ‘yes’ to what is on the other side. I know how all of us can thrive when we collaborate effectively, bravely creating balanced relationships and conversations that prioritize mutual care and support.
And I can help you do this, too!

About me:
History and philosophy
When I look back at my life, it’s clear that the idea of ‘voice’ has always been a focal point of exploration. As a kid, I frequently staged singing shows in my living room. I joined the church choir at age 10 and continued singing with friends throughout high school. After much encouragement, I finally enrolled in voice lessons at 20.
And while my journey into voice work began with singing, it became very clear to me when I started coaching others in 2007 that having a ‘good voice’ encompasses far more than producing a particular sound.
Numerous aspects of our personal human experiences influence our ability to connect with our voice and shape it into a sound that aligns with who we are or who we aspire to be.
These influences can include real and perceived dangers (if I say the wrong thing, I could get fired and lose my H-1B), or minor discomforts (I’m at a party and I don’t know anyone).
Other factors may include:
- How communication was modeled to us in our families or communities
- Habits, patterns and other adaptations shaped by life experiences
- Socioeconomic conditions, gender, race, culture
- Biases, heuristics, perspectives and narratives
- Physical and mental health, including energy levels, sleep, diet, and stress
- The role of emotions
- And much more.
For those seeking a clear, authentic, and commanding voice, even the most precise understanding of vocal technique will only get you so far—you must also get to know yourself.
My specialty lies in creating a safe and supportive environment where you can peel back the layers and develop your true voice—and your best life—from the inside out.
Coaching approach
I incorporate a blend of cognitive and somatic coaching techniques to help clients take full command of their voice and communication. My approach is customized for each client, combining facilitated discussions with experiential processes, tailored practices, and ongoing support.
While I no longer offer traditional singing lessons (such as scales, song work, or performance preparation), I recognize that singing can be a profoundly freeing tool for those who are open to it. The decision to incorporate singing into our work is entirely at the client’s discretion.
Workshops and speaking engagements
In addition to private coaching, I have delivered workshops and talks nationally and internationally at renowned organizations, including Stanford University, Hewlett Packard, Dell, 500 Startups, the Chamber of Commerce, the Human Resource Association, and the Association for Talent Development.
For several years, I have also facilitated a local monthly group coaching event aimed at empowering women to build confidence and foster community.

Sam improved my voice with one key element: confidence
Within just a few weeks, Sam improved my voice with one key element: confidence. Although I was skeptical at first, I eventually found that her approach of getting me to relax and not be afraid to take risks with my voice was the main factor holding me back. It’s amazing how integrated confidence and voice really are.
